Key Features:
Advanced Physics and Realism: Featuring an updated multi-core CPU physics engine and an advanced tire model, rFactor 2 delivers an authentic racing experience. The driving surface, aerodynamics, and even painted line thickness affect grip levels, while complex weather systems bring wet and dry conditions that dynamically evolve throughout each race.
Dynamic Racing Environment: Race through real-time day and night transitions and varying weather conditions. Tracks feature "real-road" technology where rubber buildup improves grip as races progress. Rain dynamically forms puddles, and after it stops, a drying racing line appears. Drivers can also experience tire damage, flat-spotting, and marbles from tire wear, affecting grip and strategy.
Immersive Graphics and Sound: Powered by a DX11 graphics engine, rFactor 2 delivers visually stunning environments with realistic lighting transitions, projected headlights for night races, and Open VR support for multiple headsets. An updated sound engine adapts to vehicle upgrades, further enhancing the immersive experience.
Versatile Gameplay: Compete against AI or real players in multiplayer mode. AI racers have been improved to fiercely defend positions and adapt to race strategies. Customize your experience with lap-based, time-based, or combined races, and upgrade your vehicles to improve both appearance and performance.
Esports and Multiplayer Excellence: rFactor 2 is a staple of esports, used in global championships like McLaren's World's Fastest Gamer and Formula E. With a robust multiplayer engine, dedicated servers, AI integration, and enhanced security checks, it's a platform built for competitive racing.
Open Modding Architecture: Community-driven customization is at the heart of rFactor 2, allowing users to create and share custom cars, tracks, plugins, and vehicle liveries. The platform's flexible architecture ensures endless possibilities for content creation and customization.
Whether you're into serious endurance races, casual multiplayer sessions, or extensive modding, rFactor 2 is an evolving racing simulation that will continue to expand and deliver for years to come.
