Follow the harrowing journey of young Amicia and her little brother, Hugo, as they navigate the darkest chapters of history. Pursued by Inquisition soldiers and besieged by relentless swarms of rats, the siblings will learn to trust each other as they fight to survive in a brutal and unforgiving world. Set in 1348, the plague ravages the Kingdom of France, and Amicia and Hugo find themselves hunted by the Inquisition through disease-stricken villages. Along the way, they must unite with other children and evade the swarms of rats using fire and light. Bound by an unbreakable connection, they will confront unimaginable horrors in their quest for survival. As their adventure unfolds, the innocence of childhood slips away.
